ENplus certification depends on pellets that meet the mechanical durability specification for every batch. Durability shifts with residual wood quality, press condition, and conditioning parameters throughout each shift. The lab result that confirms whether the ENplus threshold was met arrives hours after the batch has left the line. By then, corrective action is impossible. Two ENplus grades define the wood pellet market. Both specify a minimum mechanical durability threshold, tested to ISO 17831-1:2025.
ISO 17831-1:2025 (published March 2025, supersedes the 2015 edition) is the current international standard for mechanical durability of wood pellets. WEMO’s inline PDI measurement systems are correlated to this norm.

Two inline systems apply it at different levels of capability. Both are delivered as Quality-as-a-Service. Based on recipe data and accumulated process history, it predicts expected durability before the batch is complete, and provides operators with targeted adjustment recommendations.
